David Lynch was in the midst of creating a new limited series for Netflix when he passed away this week, according to Ted Sarandos. The streamer’s co-CEO posted a moving tribute to the visionary filmmaker on Instagram Friday,

Ted Sarandos has joined the many others in the entertainment industry paying tribute to David Lynch, who died Thursday at 78. Netflix co-CEO Sarandos shared a tribute on Instagram to honor one of his “all time favorite filmmakers” and noted that Lynch had been in contact with the streamer to direct a limited series.

In a heartfelt tribute posted on Instagram, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed a that legendary filmmaker David Lynch , the filmmaker behind Twin Peaks , Mulholland Drive , and more had been working on a limited series for the streaming giant before his recent passing.

Writing on Instagram, Sarandos discussed the limited series that was spoken of in the press under the tentative name Wisteria, saying, “It was a David Lynch production, so filled with mystery and risks but we wanted to go on this creative ride with this genius.
