For years, the shortage of certified air traffic controllers in the US has led to flight disruptions and headaches for travelers across the country, most recently at busy Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey,

Newark Airport continues to face major delays and cancellations Sunday, with more than 300 flights impacted. As of 11:22 a.m., the airport reported 220 delays and 88 cancellations. Delays are down slightly from Saturday, when there were at least 377 delays and 82 cancellations.

United Airlines announced last week it was cutting 35 roundtrip flights daily from the airport amid air traffic control struggles.
