Rows of uniformed law enforcement and a crowd of other mourners honored slain Ohio police officer Phillip Wagner during a public memorial.

Thousands gathered Wednesday morning at Rocket Arena in both grief and gratitude, drawn together to honor the life of Lorain police officer Phillip Wagner, who was killed in the line of duty last week.

During a public memorial service Wednesday for Lorain police officer Phillip Wagner — who died last week following an ambush shooting that also injured two other officers — Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley declared July 24 as Officer Phillip Wagner Day.
