According to police, the victim and the suspect, who is still at large, were involved in a verbal dispute prior to the shooting.

A man is dead after a pedestrian stop by Philadelphia police officers turned into a physical struggle ending in gunfire. The shooting happened on the corner of Mutter and West Somerset Streets in the city’s Fairhill section Wednesday night just after 6:30 p.m.

Police said Jamal Wood, 37, started shooting indiscriminately after a fight broke out in a bar's outside lounge. He was killed in a shootout with police. Two police officers were hit by gunfire and a security guard was killed.
