A ransomware attack on Blue Yonder over the weekend is affecting Starbucks' ability to track employee hours on Monday.
Blue Yonder Group, a UK-based subsidiary of Panasonic which sells supply chain software to Starbucks and other retailers, said that its services were disrupted Thursday by a ransomware attack.
As per a CNN report, Starbucks is one of the companies feeling the effects of the ransomware attack. Allegedly, the coffee chain uses Blue Yonder to track and manage its baristas’ schedules.
Starbucks, whose ability to serve customers has not been affected, is working with Blue Yonder to resolve the matter.
Starbucks joins a growing list of companies disrupted by the hack of Blue Yonder, an Arizona-based cloud services provider that serves grocery stores and Fortune 500 firms.
Starbucks is among its customers and uses Blue Yonder software to schedule shifts and track retail workers’ hours in North America, a company spokesperson said.
