The contract negotiations between the Washington Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin have taken a turn for the worse. McLaurin is entering the final season of his current contract with the Commanders.

An unexpected domino fell Monday in terms of wide receiver pay when New York Jets star Garrell Wilson received a four-year $130 million extension ahead of his fourth NFL season. That's an average of $32.5 million per season. The deal also included $90 million in guaranteed money.

McLaurin, currently entering the final year of a three-year, $69.6 million deal ($23.2 million AAV), is reportedly seeking an extension that eclipses the $30 million mark annually, according to recent reports. He doesn't want to reset the market, but he wants to be paid like a top receiver — and rightfully so.
