Geologists Collect Lava Samples After Eruption of Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano
Geologists collected fresh lava samples from the Napau crater of the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island on Tuesday, September 17, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).Footage by the USGS shows geologists using a shovel to scoop up the molten sample and then cooling it by placing it in a bucket and dousing it with water.
