Auburn is landing two offensive line starters from Power Four schools. The Tigers are signing former USC right tackle Mason Murphy and ex-Virginia Tech lineman Xavier Chaplin. Additionally, Trojans safety Zion Branch is entering the transfer portal.

Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thorton and the Tigers have added a pair of experienced offensive tackles from the power-four ranks; Xavier Chaplin from Virginia Tech and Mason Murphy from USC.

Hugh Freeze and the Tigers officially signed former Virginia Tech offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin on Tuesday, giving the Tigers an experienced starter at offensive tackle. He comes to Auburn after spending three seasons with the Hokies.

Auburn football is adding all of the infinity stones to its transfer class as it looks to rebound from a forgettable season.

Chaplin is the fourth incoming transfer for Auburn so far this offseason. He joins quarterback Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma), running back Durell Robinson (UConn) and punter Hudson Kaak (Oklahoma State). It doesn’t hurt to get a starting offensive tackle when bringing in new offensive weapons. For this team, anything helps.

Mason Murphy, a 22-game starter for the USC Trojans at right tackle, announced his commitment to Auburn on Tuesday morning. His commitment is welcomed as head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton are searching for a replacement at right tackle for the outgoing Izavion Miller.

Auburn added one running back transfer during Week 1 of the portal window, signing UConn transfer Durell Robinson.
