Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin participated in his team’s practice session Wednesday in Cranberry. One day earlier, he was scratched because of an undisclosed injury for a 4-3 home shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The team announced that Malkin has been activated off injured reserve and that forward Jesse Puljujarvi has been re-assigned to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Malkin was placed on the IR Sunday before missing his fourth consecutive game due to an upper-body injury.
John Klinberg has made his decision on a new home for 2024-25. The marquee veteran defenseman has signed with the Edmonton Oilers on Friday per NHL insider Darren Dreger. The Buffalo Sabres made a pair of transactions Saturday, placing center Ryan McLeod on the injured reserve, while goaltender Devon Levi was recalled from the AHL’s Rochester Americans.
