State officials have finalized a $35 million deal for 2,020-acre tract that will be part a new Hill Country state park.

Texas Parks and Wildlife purchased a 2,020-acre property along the Colorado River in an effort to create a new state park.

The property features rugged hills, diverse native habitats and 2 miles of riverfront approximately 10 miles upstream from Lake Buchanan.

Texas' state parks system is about to get a little bigger. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has finalized the purchase of 2,020 acres near Colorado Bend State Park in the Texas Hill Country.
