No. 20 North Carolina State led from the opening basket in an 85-57 rout of the Hokies in front of 5,500 fans at Reynolds Coliseum. It was Virginia Tech’s most lopsided loss in the 33-game history of the series, eclipsing a 94-68 defeat in 1980 in the teams’ first meeting.
