Douglas lost his job as the general manager on Tuesday, six weeks after the head coach was replaced following a 2-3 start. The Jets have gone 1-5 under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich so owner Woody Johnson sent Douglas packing.

The Jets must hire a new coach and general manager, and Aaron Rodgers’s football future, whether in New York or elsewhere, seems uncertain.

The star quarterback, who turns 41 next Monday, denied a recent report that he wants to keep playing next year — but not with the Jets.
