The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) attained the services of David Miller for INR 7.5 crore in the mega auction.

Rishabh Pant became the IPL's most expensive player, sold to LSG for ₹27 crore at the 2025 mega auction. He surpassed Shreyas Iyer’s 26.75 crore record.

KL Rahul has been sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 14 crore after Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer went for record INR 27 crore and INR 26.75 crore to LSG and PBKS respectively.

Just before Rishabh Pant’s record-breaking bid, Punjab Kings (PBKS) grabbed headlines by signing Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore, briefly making him the most expensive player in IPL history.

Iyer broke the record of Arshdeep Singh who was sold just moments before Iyer for INR 18 crore but was retained by Punjab Kings using Right-to-Match (RTM) card.

LSG's massive bid for Pant eclipsed Shreyas Iyer's record as the tournament's costliest player within minutes. Earlier,  Punjab Kings had shattered the record by acquiring Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore.

Shreyas Iyer was acquired by Punjab Kings for a record-breaking Rs 26.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. Released by KKR, the former captain led them to victory in 2024.
