The 21-point comeback win matched the largest second-half comeback win in UNC basketball history. And it stands as the program's second-largest comeback win overall, as the 1991-92 Tar Heels climbed back from 22 down in the first half to defeat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in February of that season.

One of those close games that came down to the final seconds went down while most college basketball fans were fast asleep as the North Carolina basketball team tipped off with Dayton a little before midnight ET.

After falling behind by 21 points, North Carolina mounted a big comeback to stun Dayton and move on in the Maui Invitational. They did it behind a strong performance from Seth Trimble and RJ Davis in the second half.
