Fans are looking back at a heartbreaking message Liam Payne wrote online years prior to his tragic death at 31. “If I died would you come to ma funeral…?” he penned on Xm formerly Twitter, in 2010. The tweet resurfaced a day after a private funeral was held for the late pop star on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the late singer's girlfriend Kate Cassidy and his former One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan were among those in attendance to memorialize Payne — who died on Oct. 16 at age 31 — in a funeral service held in a 12th century church in the English countryside northwest of London.

Three individuals have been charged in connection with Payne's death: a close associate, a hotel employee and a suspected drug dealer. The charges include abandonment of a person followed by death and supplying narcotics, as Payne had traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his system at the time of his fatal fall.
