Officials with the American Red Cross say the wildfires in California highlight the ongoing need for more volunteers across the country.

Reynaldo Vega, a Baltimore-based Community Disaster Program Manager at the American Red Cross, deployed to California Friday to assist residents impacted by Los Angeles wildfires.

As the wildfires continue throughout parts of California, the American Red Cross is sending crews to help. Wesley Smith is the Disaster Workforce Engagement Manager for the Arkansas Missouri Red Cross Region. Smith flew out of XNA on Friday and arrived in Los Angeles to start helping.
