One new millionaire after Mega Millions drawing, jackpot rises to $489 million
Last month, lottery officials announced it will cost $5 to play Mega Millions, beginning in April 2025, up from the current $2 per ticket. The price increase will be one of many changes to Mega Millions that officials said will result in improved jackpot odds, more frequent giant prizes and even larger payouts.
Someone won a $1 million prize from Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing with a ticket purchased in Texas, according to the Texas Lottery. The winner bought their ticket at H-E-B, at 12021 U.S.
