Tripura: A  bus travelling from Agartala to Kolkata via Dhaka was attacked in the Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh on Saturday. The bus carrying Indian passengers met with an accident while in the Dhaka region after that it was attacked by mob but no casualty reported.

GUWAHATI: A bus en route to Kolkata from Agartala was “attacked” in Bangladesh, Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury alleged. He said the incident occurred in the Brahmanbaria district on Saturday.

A 21-year-old Indian tourist Sayan Ghosh was allegedly attacked by a violent mob for both his Indian identity and his Hindu faith in Dhaka. He was reportedly assaulted with a knife and stones and was denied medical treatment in some private hospitals.

Agartala: Tripura ‘s Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury alleged that a bus on the way to Kolkata from Agartala was attacked in Bangladesh. The incident happened on Bishwa Road in Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria district, he said.

Tripura chief minister Dr. Manik Saha said that those who are involved in the purported attack on an India-Bangladesh international passenger bus on Biswa Road in Bangladesh's Brahmanbaria district on Saturday and the atrocities on minorities in the country should rectify themselves soon,

Buses operate between Kolkata and Agartala via Dhaka as it cuts the distance by more than half. It is cheaper than travelling by flight and shorter than travelling by train via Assam, which usually takes over 30 hours.
