Two bodies have been recovered from an area close to where two men went missing in the American River in Placer County on Saturday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The bodies were located and recovered sometime around 11 a.

Placer County sheriff’s officials on Monday recovered the bodies of two people believed to be the two fishermen who were swept away and presumably drowned Saturday in the North Fork American River near Auburn. One of the missing fishermen is believed to be a relative of a California state lawmaker.

Search and rescue crews on Monday said they found the bodies of two men who were swept away by the American River in Placer County over the weekend. Maricela De La Cruz reports on what we know.
