BELGRADE, Maine (WABI) - Authorities say a man is facing charges after shooting his mother in Belgrade Sunday. Samuel Bell, 26, is charged with attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault. The shooting happened at his parents house on Point Road.

BELGRADE — A woman was seriously injured Sunday morning in a shooting at a home on Point Road in Belgrade, police said. A man was taken into custody and was cooperating later Sunday with the investigation, according to Shannon Moss, the public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Maine State Police said they are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday morning in Belgrade, leaving a woman seriously injured. Shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, a 911 call was received reporting a shooting at a residence on Point Road in Belgrade.
