Maharashtra: The health of caretaker CM Eknath Shinde, who is at his native village in Satara, has deteriorated. Shinde is suffering from fever and a throat infection and a team of doctors is treating him.

As the suspense over the next Maharashtra Chief Minister continues, caretaker CM Eknath Shinde's health deteriorated on Saturday in his native village Satara. A team of doctors reached his home for medical checkup and advised him to take rest.

Eknath Shinde, now the caretaker chief minister, has said he will “fully support” the BJP leadership’s decision to name the next chief minister, and would not be a hurdle.

Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant said Eknath Shinde is not upset, and he left for in Satara district because he was down with fever and cold.

A day after the Mahayuti leaders' meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, caretaker CM Eknath Shinde left for his village Dare Tamb in Mahabaleshwar taluka in Satara district. Sources said the BJP is working on him to get him to accept the deputy CM's post.
