The San Jose Sharks have traded Fabian Zetterlund to the Ottawa Senators. Zetterlund, prospect Tristen Robins, and a 4th-round pick are headed to the Senators in exchange for Noah Gregor, Zack Ostapchuk, and a 2nd-round pick.

Jake Walman, sent to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, roughly two weeks after his 29th birthday, gave the Sharks a veteran offensive defenseman who usually logged between 22 and 26 minutes per game. Zetterlund, 25, scored 24 goals last year and was nearly on the same pace this season.

The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Fabian Zetterlund, forward Tristen Robins and a 2025 fourth round pick from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Noah Gregor, forward Zack Ostapchuk and a 2025 second round pick.

Mike Grier has pulled off another Trade Deadline shocker. After trading the San Jose Sharks’ de facto No. 1 defenseman Jake Walman to the Edmonton Oilers yesterday, Grier has sent popular winger Fabian Zetterlund to the Ottawa Senators.

The Sharks traded goalie Vitek Vanecek and center Nico Sturm to the Florida Panthers in separate deals on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. In the Vanecek deal, the Sharks received AHL forward Patrick Giles. For Sturm, the Sharks got back a 2026 fourth-round pick while also sending a 2027 seventh-round selection to the Panthers.
