Ireland would be prepared to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he came to the country following the International Criminal Court arrest warrant issued on Thursday, Prime Minister Simon Harris said.

IRELAND WOULD “ABSOLUTELY” execute the arrest warrant issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court (ICC) yesterday, the Taoiseach and Tánaiste have said separately.

The ICC’s action against Netanyahu, his former defense minister Yoav Gallant, and several Hamas leaders follows the escalation of violence in Gaza, including Israel's military operations in response to the October 2023 Hamas attacks.

Gardaí would arrest Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he arrived in Ireland, the Taoiseach has said. It comes after the International Criminal Court issued warrants for Mr Netanyahu and former Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes in Gaza.
