Israel on Thursday carried out its first airstrike on Lebanon since a truce with Hezbollah announced this week, saying it targeted the militant group's activity at a rocket storage facility in southern Lebanon that breached the ceasefire.

Israel's military opened fire Thursday morning in southern Lebanon, a day after reaching a cease-fire agreement in the area with the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group.

The IDF says it will again be imposing a nighttime curfew on movement in southern Lebanon. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman says that from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. tomorrow, “it is strictly forbidden” to cross the Litani River in a southbound direction.

Earlier on Wednesday, IDF troops shot at suspects who had been detected in a prohibited area in Lebanese territory, the military said on Wednesday morning, hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into effect at 4:00 a.m. local time.
