Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist party is headed for a victory in state elections in politically significant Maharashtra while the opposition won mineral-rich Jharkhand state

The BJP is all set to emerge as the biggest winner in Maharashtra leading in 124 seats in the state with an outstanding strike rate of over.

Modi's speech comes after the BJP led the Mahayuti Alliance -- which includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP -- to sweep the state, with the BJP alone crossing past the 100-seats mark.

With the ruling Mahayuti alliance set for a landslide victory in Maharashtra, reports said the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to hold a legislative party meeting on November 25 to elect the next chief minister. The oath taking ceremony will be held on November 26, ANI reported quoting party sources.
