The North Carolina State Board of Elections voted to certify the results of the 2024 election aside from a few outstanding races still under recount.

North Carolina county election boards began their recounts Wednesday in a much-watched Supreme Court contest in which just over 600 votes separate the Democratic and Republican candidates.

On Tuesday, the embattled North Carolina State Board of Elections is scheduled to certify the 2024 election. The majority of the election results from 2,658 precincts across the state are expected to be approved,

An already close race for a North Carolina Supreme Court seat reached a razor-thin margin as most counties on Friday completed final tallies from the Nov. 5 election, setting the stage for possible recounts next week.

The North Carolina Elections Board has certified the results from the November election. More than 5.7 million voters were counted, which is a 73% turnout. However, 10 races are going to a recount. ALSO READ: Trump fills out his economic team with two veterans of his first administration Those races include the race between Woodson Bradley and Stacie McGinn for the Mecklenburg County Senate seat and the Mecklenburg County House race between Tricia Cotham and Nicole Sidman.

The Justice Department is getting involved in a lawsuit brought by the Republican Party against the North Carolina Board of Elections. According to Democracy Docket, the RNC is disputing the board's guidance about absentee ballots that are not in a sealed return envelope.

The 2024 General Election results are official after the state's Canvass Board met on Nov. 26, 2024 and certified the election in Santa Fe.
