Initially, the zoo tried to claim the animals were a rare breed called "panda dogs," but the truth soon surfaced. The zoo eventually admitted they had dyed chow chows, as reported by the New York Post.

The pandas at Zoo Atlanta officially have a departure date. The zoo announced Friday that the four giant pandas, Lun Lun, Yang Yang, Ya Lun, and Xi Lun will travel to China in the middle of next month. Although the zoo said it is “not able to share specifics on the pandas’ departure timeline.”
