Three operators of dozens of Burger King and Popeyes fast food franchises across the state have been cited more than $2.2 million for violating child labor laws and other workers’ rights, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell’s office said Tuesday.

Two fast food chains in Massachusetts are facing more than $2 million in fines after the Attorney General’s office says they violated child labor laws and didn’t pay their employees. The investigation began after an employee at Burger King complained to the Attorney General’s office that they weren’t getting paid.
