The multitrillion-dollar tax cut and spending bill now heads to the Senate, where Republicans have vowed to make changes.

The bill, passed by a single-vote margin, would fulfill many of Trump's populist campaign pledges. All of the chamber's Democrats and two Republicans voted against it. One Republican missed the vote because he had fallen asleep.

The victory for Republicans came after Speaker Mike Johnson made concessions to holdouts in several factions and President Trump pressured the party to fall in line.
