FAIRFAX, Va. - Virginia and West Virginia's sales tax holiday begins Friday, lasting through Sunday. The holiday begins Friday, Aug. 1, at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday, Aug. 3 at 11:59 p.m.

The West Virginia Governor’s Office said “West Virginians will save an estimated $3.4 million over the four-day tax holiday period.”

With the start of public school just two weeks away for some counties, parents doing their back-to-school shopping will once again benefit from West Virginia’s annual sales tax holiday. Gov. Patrick Morrisey held a press conference Wednesday afternoon at the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport to announce West Virginia’s 2025 sales tax holiday.
