The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance secured a landslide victory in Maharashtra and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA bloc stormed back to power in Jharkhand.

In a show of strength, leaders of the INDIA alliance, comprising the JMM, the Congress, the RJD and the Left, reached the Raj Bhawan in Ranchi where the incumbent chief minister, Soren, tendered his resignation to assume the office once again.

Hemant Soren submitted his resignation to the Governor at Raj Bhawan along with India Bloc leaders. Hemant Soren is expected to take oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand again on November 28. Hemant Soren said,

Hemant Soren will be sworn in as the 14th chief minister of Jharkhand, a decision taken by JMM and its INDIA bloc allies, day after securing a stunning victory in the Jharkhand Assembly Elections, the results of which were announced Saturday.

Hemant Soren is expected to give chance to several new comers in the Cabinet as at least four ministers from his incumbent cabinet had lost in the polls

Hemant Soren, aged 49, is set to begin his second consecutive term as chief minister, reaffirming his stronghold on Jharkhand’s tribal electorate.
