Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi in a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan today, marking the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) return to power in the national capital after 26 years.

Rekha Gupta, the BJP’s Chief Minister-elect of Delhi, is set to take the oath of office today (20 February) with six cabinet ministers, India Today reported. The party, marking its return to power in the capital after around 27 years, has planned a grand swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan.

Rekha Gupta's first day as Delhi's Chief Minister included a cabinet meeting after being sworn-in at Ramlila Maidan. This was followed by a Yamuna Aarti.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s first-time MLA Rekha Gupta on Thursday took oath as the new Delhi Chief Minister, almost two weeks after her party swept the assembly elections and returned to power in the national capital after 27 years.
