Food Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday called for an investigation into allegations made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu regarding the use of animal fat in Tirupati laddus, a claim that has sparked concern among devotees.

While YSRCP accused Chandrababu Naidu of indulging in “heinous allegations” and TDP circulated the lab report to back the claim.

However, there was no official confirmation on lab report from either Andhra Pradesh government or Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Naidu alleged that the previous YSRCP government compromised the Sri Venkateswara temple by using substandard ingredients and animal fat in the Tirupati laddus.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president YS Sharmila has demanded that Naidu be held accountable for his remarks. She urged him to set up a high-level inquiry if his allegations were genuine.
