CALGARY -- Logan Thompson made 32 saves to help the Washington Capitals to a 3-1 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday. Thompson signed a six-year, $35.1 million contract ($5.85 million average annual value) with the Capitals on Monday. The goaltender is 15-1-2 since Nov. 25.

The Calgary Flames battled toe-to-toe with the NHL's No. 1 team on Tuesday, but a rare gaffe by veteran forward Blake Coleman cost them.
