Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 120 Palestinians over the last 48 hours and hit a hospital on the northern edge of the enclave, wounding medical staff and damaging equipment,

Israeli strikes on northern and central Gaza killed at least 87 Palestinians in 24 hours, local health authorities said, as the death toll in the enclave surpassed 44,000.

More than half those killed are women and children with thousands more still believed to be buried under rubble, according to Gaza health officials.

Gazans saw little hope on Friday that International Criminal Court arrest warrants for Israeli leaders would slow down the onslaught on the Palestinian territory, where medics said at least 24 people were killed in fresh Israeli military strikes.

The court accused Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister of having “intentionally and knowingly deprived” Gaza’s population of food, water, fuel and medicine.
