Jets head coach Scott Arniel told reporters Saturday that Nikolaj Ehlers has been listed as day-to-day and hasn’t officially been ruled out for the heavyweight clash against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

The Winnipeg Jets suffered a double blow on Friday night, losing 4-3 to the Vegas Golden Knights and potentially losing forward Nikolaj Ehlers to injury.

After the game Jets head coach Scott Arniel described it as “not good obviously” although he wasn’t prepared to label him as anything more than day-to-day. A day later with the team having an optional skate in Dallas the bench boss spoke to the media again and Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press relayed this from the head coach about Ehlers:

The winger was forced to exit the Winnipeg Jets’ game against the Vegas Golden Knights after throwing a hit on Pavel Dorofeyev in the second period.

After Vegas took advantage of a fortunate bounce to take the lead, Gabriel Vilardi the centre won a faceoff which allowed Winnipeg to move the puck around ending up on the stick of Neal Pionk who got his fourth of the season to tie the game 3-3.
