Thousands of anti-Trump protests are erupting across the United States this weekend under the banner of “No Kings” day.

Trump called in the California National Guard and a few days later ordered Marines to the city. California Gov. Gavin Newsom filed a lawsuit over the president’s move to deploy members of the Guard without Newsom’s authorization.
Thousands of people gathered as elected officials and community leaders are slated to speak at some of the protests.
No Kings” organizers described the events as a “nationwide day of defiance” against President Donald Trump and authoritarianism.
