NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - We now know the name of the pilot who died following a plane crash in Norfolk, Nebraska on Monday. On Monday, Oct. 7, at about 7:40 p.m. authorities were called to the Norfolk Regional Airport for a plane crash.

WIDNER FROM BEDFORD, TEXAS WAS THE LONE OCCUPANT IN THE TWIN ENGINE BEECH C99 THAT CRASHED ABOUT ONE-HALF MILE SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Norfolk Police have identified the pilot who died from a crash in northeast Nebraska on Monday. Police have now identified 37-year-old Philip K. Widner, from Bedford, Texas, as the pilot who died in a plane crash near the Karl Stefen Airport.

A pilot died after the person's plane crashed near the Norfolk airport Monday night. Shortly after 7:30 p.m., Norfolk police officers, firefighters and medics along with deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at Karl Stefan Memorial Field.

Update on Deadly Norfolk Plane Crash

A pilot was killed Monday night in a crash near the Norfolk airport, police say. The crash happened around 7:40 p.m., about a half mile south of the Karl Stefen Airport’s runway. Police said a single-engine airplane crashed just after take-off.
