Roger Williams Park Zoo is preparing to relocate its three African elephants—Kate, Ginny, and Alice—by 2027 to ensure they receive the best care as they age.

Roger Williams Park Zoo's three African elephants will move to a new home in 2027, one that provides the care and companionship they need as they age.

Roger Williams Park Zoo announced Tuesday that its three African elephants that have been at the zoo for 34 years will be moving to a new home in late 2027.

African elephants Alice, Ginny, and Kate, who turn 40 this year, will be moved so they may enjoy the companionship of other elephants as they age, Roger Williams Park Zoo officials said.

Alice, Ginny and Kate, the Roger Williams Park Zoo's beloved African elephant trio, will leave Rhode Island in late 2027.
