Nobody faults President Trump’s ambitions to make Hollywood great again, but investors aren’t convinced tariffs are the way to make it happen. Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Disney, Paramount, and Cinemark all tumbled Monday after Trump proposed a 100 percent tariff on movies produced overseas.

The declines came on the first day of a two-day meeting of Federal Reserve policymakers, where the central bank is expected to hold its benchmark interest rate steady. The Fed cut rates three times last year. Uncertainty over President Donald Trump’s tariffs has officials concerned about a potential resurgence of inflation.
