Springsteen released three singles from Darkness At The Edge Of Town in 1978 and none did as well on the singles charts as "Because The Night" (which went into the top 20).

Dec 3, 2020 · Yeah. She and Bruce wrote it together. Her version came out first. I don’t have anything against the Boss but I think Patti is incredible! Personally, I like her version better. But you’re right about Prove it all Night. Its a passionate song and I like your description. Sounds like you love the song too!

Patti's of course an important and influential artist as "The Godmother of Punk" and "Punk Poet Laureate", how she originally didn't get into music. And it's interesting to learn about Bruce's connection to the punk artists at the time.
