Apr 23, 2007 · There's no such thing as a "marine specific" oil. Pennzoil Marine is just Pennzoil's 15W40 diesel oil with a different label. Indmar calls for 15W40 that meets (or exceeds) API service classification CH-4/SJ. Those oils are currently classed at CI-4/SL. Pennzoil or Rotella T are generally most easily found. Walmart usually sells the Pennzoil.

May 16, 2006 · I read the this thread, and consensus is OK to use any 15W-40. So I bought Chevron Delo 15W-40 , however I need clarification on the API. The manual for Wakesetter 2005 says to use oil that meet or exceeds API CJ-4 or CI-4. The API on Chevron Delo is CK-4. If any has some information, please advise.

Jun 2, 2009 · Where do you find Penzoil 15w-40 "Marine". Thats the oil Indmar specs, but nobody in my group has ever been able to locate the "marine" type. As a result of our calls to Indmar, we've always used regular Penzoil 15-40; which is actually manufactured for Deisel spec applications. Thanks Jeff

May 16, 2006 · Many of us in Canada use Shell Rotella 15w 40 as it is available everywhere.....The only place I saw the Pennzoil was at Bass Pro north of Toronto. I have been using Rotella for years. 15w40 Diesel.
