Nov 12, 2004 · Yes you can they're called portable MP3 players. If your hifi has mp3 and flac support, and has a USB port then you can use a regular USB stick. But a regular USB stick is just a storage device, so either you use a MP3 player with line out, or your Hifi must have media playback over USB.

Oct 3, 2023 · The Yamaha is a rere beast indeed with the USB input to share the dac in the CD player. There is not one in your Technics machine. There are indeed very few amps with a USB input, and many are charging ports only. If you want to use the USB input for a laptop or mac (or phone or tablet), then some of the newer Musical Fidelity amps have them.

Jan 9, 2012 · When played from original CD. Sounds punchy and clear with good separation. When played from USB stick via the CD6003 it's good but not as punchy as from original CD. (only plays MP3 not FLAC that way). When played from PC via USB soundcard it sounds good but not as punchy as from original CD.

It will play CDs, allow you to connect in the ipod using iTunes , and the sound card built into the laptop will work to drive an amp and speaker at a pinch. Getting a usb sound card will improve the quality no end.

Feb 15, 2009 · Buy the cable, attach the mp3 player. set the mp3 play to a low volume first. turn the amp up to decent level and then adjust the volume on the player. you will have to mess around with both volumes to get it to sound good. if crank the volume on the mp3 player first, it will overdrive the input signal to the amp and sound like crap.

Apr 29, 2020 · Same with a Panasonic TV decoder. It does not seem to be a problem when I play a CD through the DAC from an external CD player, using the same cable. Almost like direct streaming services are worse. However, I have an ancient Onkyo system (from 2000!) with built-in DAC that decodes without issue from the same AV sources (and cable).
