The weather across Ireland is set to take a drastic turn this week with fallen trees, damage to power lines and power outages and structural damage expected when the storm hits

Most of the country will be under a Status Red wind warning on Friday with the arrival of Storm Éowyn expected to cause significant disruption, “danger to life” and schools and childcare settings in impacted counties are to close. All counties except for Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow and Wexford will be under a red warning for wind at various stages of Friday in what is expected to one of the strongest storms to hit Ireland in years.
