Jan 8, 2025 · Researchers at the University of Washington School of Medicine have been awarded a five-year grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study the spread of influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), SARS-CoV-2 (the COVID-19 coronavirus) and other respiratory viruses in communities.

Feb 1, 2024 · The University of Washington provided whole-genome sequencing and phylogenetic analyses of SARS-CoV-2 for the state of Washington and the surrounding region. Awarded in 2021, this project performed sequencing on an additional 4,400 SARS-CoV-2 virus genomes and analyzed their diversity and development.
