A negative scraper is a tool that creates much discussion. The Negative scraper, why are so many people tool snobs. I got a comment, “You can’t use a scraper on dry softwood you should use a gouge!” You can, so did a quick demo for you Billy. I agree it’s not as clean as traditional gouges but nothing a touch of sandpaper will not cover. If someone wants to use a scraper or a carbide tipped tool and they achieve a good item safely then why not. Show someone a beautiful item no customer will ask “what tool did you use?” There’s no right way, different me
