The jet stream is near the UK over this weekend bringing unsettled weather conditions across many areas. However, the jet will make steady progress north through the week. This will allow high pressure to then build from the south, particularly on Thursday. High pressure will then bring drier, brighter and more settled conditions to many parts. | Met Office

A very strong #jetstream will bring some rather stormy conditions Friday and Saturday of this week. As shown on the video, a 230mph #jetstream is expected. We are keeping a close eye on two areas of low pressure in particular that will bring some very stormy conditions with gusts perhaps reaching 90-95mph across parts of Scotland and the Northern Isles.
